Straight Answers From Our Team
Can you remove all the paint so I can repaint or restain my deck or porch?
No — power washing is not paint stripping. Only loose, flaking paint will come off during the wash. To fully remove existing paint you'll need sanding or a chemical paint stripper; that's a separate trade and not something we offer. We'll always tell you upfront what we can and can't do before any work begins.
Can you remove rust stains from my siding or surfaces?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no — it depends on how deep the rust has set and how long it's been there. We'll assess it during your free estimate and give you an honest answer before we start.
What are the black spots on my siding — and can they be removed?
Those black spots are called Artillery Fungus. Unfortunately, there is currently no known effective method to remove them without staining the surface. We'll let you know at the estimate so you're not spending money expecting a result we can't deliver.
Penn State Extension: Artillery Fungus
Will white spots on my siding come off when you wash it?
Most likely no. Those white spots are caused by nail heads behind the siding — the wrong type of nail was used during installation, and that discoloration is permanent. We'd rather tell you that upfront than take your money on a job that won't fix it.
What does "re-sanding my walkway or patio" mean — and do I need it?
Paver cleaning does more than lift surface dirt — the water pressure can also displace the sand or rock dust packed between the blocks. That joint material is what holds your pavers in place and prevents shifting. To keep your walkway or patio stable and looking great for years to come, re-sanding after a wash is the right call. We'll advise you on this during your free estimate.
Please note: we do not pick up or clean up paint chips after deck washing — they will be blown into the surrounding grass during the washing service.
